The short answer

SCFHS’s public renewal FAQ lists 20 hours for technicians, 40 for specialists, 40 for pharmacists and 60 for doctors. Confirm the requirement and remaining balance in your own Mumaris+ account.

Why a job title is not enough

An employer’s role name and a regulator’s classification are not interchangeable. A nurse described locally as a senior team member should not select a requirement simply because the word “specialist” sounds appropriate. Start with the classification and period shown in the official record.

Also separate total required hours, hours already recorded and hours remaining. If your record shows a target of 40 and 26 recorded hours for the relevant period, the arithmetic gap is 14. Buying another 40-hour package may be unnecessary. The 40 and 26 in this example are illustrative, not a lookup of your account.

Use the right period

Do not multiply an old annual table by an assumed number of years or combine certificates from different periods without checking how they appear in your record. Older PDFs remain searchable and may describe earlier arrangements. A recent blog headline does not resolve a conflict either.

If two official screens seem inconsistent, save a dated note of the issue and ask SCFHS about your own case. Include the relevant registration period, but do not post your full identity or account screenshots in a public group. Until the issue is clarified, plan around confirmed information rather than an exemption you hope will apply.

Turn the balance into a schedule

Enter your verified target and already recorded hours in the planner. Reserve a buffer for completing assessments, correcting certificate details and checking posting. Keep planned credits outside your completed balance.

A useful personal note has four fields: record checked on, requirement shown, recorded balance and period end. Recheck that note before buying a large bundle. If you have special circumstances, interrupted registration or an exemption question, seek an account-specific answer rather than using this general guide as a determination.
