The short answer

Check your name, the activity, dates, credit information and accreditation details against the booking. Keep the original file and ask the issuer to correct errors.

Read the evidence fields

SCFHS’s recognition requirements describe evidence by activity type. For courses and online learning, the published checklist includes the practitioner’s name, activity name and dates, location or activity website, hours, activity reference, accreditation information and specialty. Use the relevant official checklist for the route you are taking; do not treat every certificate as the same document.

A purchase invoice proves a transaction. A completion certificate supports participation or completion. Your professional record shows what has been recorded there. Keeping these separate makes later questions much easier to resolve.

Correct errors at the source

Compare the certificate with the activity you actually completed. Look for a misspelled name, wrong date, wrong event title, missing credit information or a reference that belongs to another session. Ask the issuing organisation to investigate and reissue the document if needed.

Do not edit a PDF yourself to add missing hours, change a date or insert an accreditation number. Even a genuine typing error should be corrected by the issuer. Keep the original version and the support reply so the correction has a clear history.

If a certificate has a verification link or QR code, use it carefully and check the destination domain. A verification page may confirm the issuer’s document without proving that a regulator has accepted its hours.

Keep a private, searchable archive

Use a consistent filename such as date, provider and short activity title. Keep the certificate, booking evidence and relevant correspondence together. Make a backup somewhere you control.

The log on this website stores text you choose to save in your browser; it is not a document vault or an official certificate check. Avoid storing national identity numbers or confidential cases in it. If a dispute arises, the original evidence and a clear timeline are more useful than a large collection of unsorted screenshots.
